Will Not Download Anything - Always Says "need More Sources" !!! All of a sudden, every time I try to download something, it says "Connecting" for a while and then it always just says "Need More Sources". I've never had this problem before, Limewire has always worked perfectly on my PC until now. I have heard it does this with corrupt files but they can't all be bad?!? Can someone please tell me a simple way of getting rid of this problem? If it helps, here's some info about my computer and my limewire: - I have Windows XP Home Edition. - I have downloaded 171 files on LimeWire in total (all of them are songs). - Until I started having this problem, all the 5 bars in the bottom left hand corner almost immediately turned green. Now it takes a long time. - I use Windows Firewall, and AVG Free Antivirus software, and both of these things have never been a problem for limewire in the past. Someone please help! :( |
A few things i can think of: 1. Re-search the item, and use the right-click search tab option of Get More Results. If you see the download icon but your download has not started, then cancel your download, re-select from search results. I do this often. It worked with LW 6 years ago, still works now. 2. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link). This will get rid of any fake files you may have accidentally selected also and put less pressure on the LW program. If still problems then: 3. Make a note of all your option settings, CLOSE LW, then delete your LW preferences folder: instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) BTW have a look at the topics here MAJOR TOPICS for Upload/Download HELP. Those about fake or corrupt files, especially audio ones. This will give you an idea of what sizes to stay away from. :) |
slow or no download i have the same problem...it says "need more sources", then gives a time to start downloading then stops altogether. i dont hardly ever get on anymore because of this problem and i have tried all the things i can find on this forum with no luck |
Keep in mind about spammed junk files. You will never download 'Fake' files and the spammed small junk files will be either viruses or something other than desired. 1. Beware of Fake files in search results 2. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post327233 |
