Error message - I have VISTA

I cannot download the free/basic version of limewire. I get an error message about "this file is corrupt, please reinstall". Every time I try to reinstall, I receive the same error message. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have Windows Vista.

1. Download & install the OFFLINE version of Java: Download Java software from Sun Microsystems



2. Download Microsoft Windows Install Clean Up from Microsoft & clean up the registry. Can also use this utility: Crap Cleaner to help clean up the system.

3. Download & install this version of LW: http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe but before you try installing it you need to set the installer to Admin. Right cilck the installer to do so. Of course you need to be logged into admin account to install programs on your system anyway.

Thank you Lord of the Rings for trying to help me. I followed your steps - installed JAVA, installed the cleaenr, and reinstalled limewire. I still received the following error message "This installation is corrupted. Please download and install Lime Wire again." Is there any thing else I can do to install Lime Wire?
