Downloading Limewire Pro I'm curious to see if anyone out there has had this problem. I had Limewire Basic, and decided to upgrade to Pro. After I put in my email address, the screen comes up for me to choose my operating system, which is Windows XP. When I choose this I get the following message: File Download - Security Warning Name: LimeWire Win.1.2 DOD 17.efw Type: UmxAttachmentFile, 6.99MB I follow the instructions and nothing happens! I went so far as to uninstalling my basic version of Limewire and starting over by trying to download the Pro version. Still nothing! But if I choose to download Limewire Basic, I have no problems at all. I just don't understand why I can easily download the Basic version, but not the Pro version, for which I paid for. Sytem Info: OS: Windows_XP_home_edition LW VERSION: 4.18.8 CONNECTION: CABLE JAVA VERSION: I_dont_know Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Do you Perhaps have CA Antivirus Software Installed ?? If so, Try disabling the CA Firewall. D/L LW Pro and then Enable the Firewall. Hope this Helps. :) |
Downloading Limewire Pro Thanks Remoc! You were right! I do have CA Antivirus, and I disabled my firewall and was able to Download Limewire Pro without any problems. I'm glad it was a simple fix, once again thanks. :) |

What happens if you save the file, rather than running it? Try clearing your browser cache, or try using a different browser. Does that help? |
nope sorry it didn work |
can u help me out please, i have the same problem with my computer and have mcafee |
Downloading Lime Pro Although I have CA Security, what worked for me was to disable the firewall completely, download Limewire Pro, and enable the firewall again. Give it a try, I hope it works for you. |
Had to redo download - I'm unrecognised! So there I was - I'd handed over the cash for Limeware PRO, feeling sure the extra service support was just what I needed. Yep, it was - but although I managed to download I couldn't play any music. I saw the Firewall sign was there so disabled my McAfee firewall. Still no good - the firewall sign remained. OK, so let's head for plan B - uninstall everything Limeware and then turn off to then redownload. Did all that, then found that I had to put in again my email address. No good, never heard of me... 'Who are you?? Try another email address!' Fine, but I don't have one. :bangh: And yet, oddly enough I had at least 3 emails concerned with my recent and now, it seems, useless, purchase. Still, it passses an hour or two, I suppose... Good luck everyone - I'm sure a fair few of you will need it! And any advice from the Tech Support people (who I emailed - still no response) will be most welcome |
For starters, none of the helpers here work for LW. We're volunteers who help out in our spare time... so you won't get a reply from LW's tech support here;) When did you download Pro & did you download from Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Do you have your CC statement for that time? Who appears as the vendor for your Pro payment? If you don't have your CC statement, did you get a receipt after buying Pro? If so, who is the receipt from? After you buy Pro from the official site, you should recieve an email from LW with a link to your Pro personal download page. Do you have that email? If you paid the official site for Pro, I don't know why you would get at least 3 emails about your purchase. Check your emails & tell us who those emails were sent by. Where did you send your tech support email (which address)? Which Pro did you buy (6 months worth of free updates & support for $21.95, 12 months of free updates & support for $34.95 or the one-off payment of $13.95 which has no free updates & no support)?? |
