Default File Or Files Get Misplaced

I realize I have and am sharing the old files in LW the thing is the first of one so far download file went to Individually Shared.. How can I move it to the Shared Library? Would any drag it to there do it, if it as it may be the case of a another Shared file Library of LW when I have successfully gotten LW to run... again..
Though the old files upload to the blank library took some time.

When you are sharing some but not all files out of a particular folder, they show up in the Individually shared folder.

Check your Saved files folder instead & see if it's listed there.

Part of your problem 'might' be related to this If you updated LimeWire & cannot find your Downloads. Don't forget you can use the Explore button to open particular folders onto your desktop. You may wish to move some files across from old to new shared location. You'd need to Refresh LW for it to fully see the status of the different files.

Well the new downloads are'nt going to shared..they are going to individual or saved.. So yea have to have saved folder open then drag them into shared and see they are activated to share.. So that is what I have to do for now.
Reply not needed for now thanks anyway.

Two options I can think of. (1) Share files immediately (share finished downloads) option at bottom of Share option in Tools > Options > Sharing. (2) Add 'Shared' folder as a sharing folder.

Default Sharing Uploads/ Downloads

Well I have the sharing folder that everyone is getting to.. and downloading is fine so everything is alright with the world.
The thing is that the new downloads do go to saved folder and they are not useful until I share file.. I usually need to see if the file is legit that I downloaded..
or is it trash.. as I am a music savy person with knowledge of what an artist would or wouldn't have done. Like when someone posts that let's say the Rolling Stones are posted as them doing Paranoid .. you woule downright know that Black Sabbath is the song that you will get..
Anyway back to the point at hand is though what I have had to do in getting to my saved folder is opening my computer then user name folder.. to limewire then to saved... then drag files into shared..
I don't know if there is much of a better way to it then what LW will let me do..then say it can't find shared file if say the saved folder gets moved to desktop as folder or as a copy.. cause LW tells me it can't find folder unless it is in where it's at right now.

Have you tried making your saved folder your shared folder? By that I mean make the location (within LW's tools > options > saving and tools > options > sharing) the same for both saved & shared files. What you can do in that case is download a file & then go to LW's library > Saved Files > right click on the file you've just downloaded > stop sharing file.

Then open your saved folder & scan the file for viruses, check that it sounds ok & that you're happy to share it. Once you've done that, you can go back to the file within LW's library > right click > share file.

IDK if it's going to be any more painless for you to do it this way

Thats exactly how we have ours and it keeps everything nicely in one Folder. Then I've made a shortcut to the Shared Folder on our Desktop so it's easily accessible. This is the only way I would have it set up.

Remoc... I do have shared folder copy on desktop.
So the thing was of opening to saved having that open and dragging to shared then previewing and checking for bugs..before sharing.

Hi Mystic,
The only thing is with the way I have mine set up, there is NO Dragging and Dropping.
After a download, I simply Open the Shared Folder from the Desktop. Right Click on the File and pick one of four or all of the Scanners that I use to Check the File and then I'm Done.

Default File Misplacement

Thanks... for the insight..
Though the files while are in the LW saved folder they wouldn't be in the shared.. so usually have to open the saved.. for the drag and drop to the shared on desktop.. and the filesif they show the are in RED they are not shared until I right click to save..
