Audio search not populating

I logged on this morning and attempted an audio search. I got zero results. I tried several different searches by song title only, by artist only and still got no results from my search.

Is there a problem with the Limewire search function currently? If not, what could this be? My network is connected.

Thank You.

It 'might' be related to the ultrapeers you are connected to. Patience is best as Ultrapeers come & go usually. However you could try closing & opening LW to see if any improvement. Some days are simply better than others. Also, if you use one identical search too many times it may in fact have a negative effect with your ultrapeers who may consider it some kind of spam. Again, different UP's or patience is best.

Did you try an All Types search also to see if anything shows up? All Types search tends to attract spam however was just curious to see if anything showed up.

I tried thoroughly closing and restarting LW repeatedly. I went into my Firewall settings to be certain nothing had changed and FW had "full access'. I had good internet connections... meaning I had no trouble getting to other websites.

As a test I selected "audio" for a search, went to artist and just typed in Beatles to see what came up - thinking a LOT would come up - nothing. It didn't matter if I typed a song name or an artist name, nothing came up in the search results.

I've never experienced this before. It behaved as if there were no content or files on LW at all.

Very strange indeed.

And you're sure you have 3-5 green bars at bottom left corner of LW?

If same problem again tomorrow let us know. I wonder if it's isp related. AT&T right?

Other than that, might be as suggested, something wrong with the U.P.'s you are connected to not responding to the search messages & passing them on to other ultrapeers.

Possibly, .. go to view menu -> Show Hide Connections window. Find the Ultrapeer you have been connected to for the longest, select it & press remove button. Wait a few minutes for LW to both find another & to settle its connection because you will lose connection momentarily. Then after a few mins try a search again.

I checked again.... the bars never go green. It's like its trying to connect but never does. So it now appears I'm never fully connected but I don't get it because it appears LW loads fine and I can navigate around the site, but can't pull any content.

It also says in the bottom left corner "Limewire detects a firewall". As I stated earlier, I did go in to be sure Limewire has full access and it does.

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is CLOSED; instructions here: Point #3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

or if using Vista see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html & delete the limewire folder in the preferences folder. LW must be closed however. That is vital.

I also am having problems getting any search results to appear. I have full internet connectivity and have 5 green bars with LW saying that i'm fully connected. Whenever, I type anything in the search box, I get either no resuts at all or if its a file tah I already have, it shows up saying its in my library. For instance, i'm looking for a particular song by akon, and when i type it in the box I get no results. So I type Akon in the box and shows up 2 songs taht I already have in my library.

This is very frustrating indeed. Any help on whats going on and how to fix this problem would be great.

I think suggestions have already been made. Did you read the thread.

I did read the thread and CWJam says that his bars never go green. i have 5 green bars and it says that it is fully connected....every time. I just re-installed LW 5 and still have the ssame problem....no results for any searches. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

I am not going to repeat my advice. :) Perhaps someone else can add advice if they think of alternatives. :) I've answered similar questions over past few months. I'm so the search button might find them.
