Some files going backwards.

I've had a few files that seem to be going backwards in downloading, they get to a certain point then seem to go back to near the beginning then start again, which is highly annoying.

Tonight I had a big file that was at 86% and was going along at a good pace after weeks of inactivity, then before my eyes it went right the way back to 20% no reason:shoot:

What is going on and how do I fix it...thankyou.

Check out this link for some more info: Download percentages % going backwards! Why!
:)

Thankyou birdy I did that, then when it came back it was going from 20% up to 21% then back to 20%, now it's not going anywhere, I guess it's a corrupt file, but I nver got a message saying as such.

I got the file back from incompleted files after checking if it the content was alright, and it seemed fine so I got it back on the list, but now it just wont budge above 21% and is always going back to 20%.

Im noticing that more and more files are doing this which never used to happen before after 4 years of happy use of limewire, im still on limewire 4.14.8 as the newer versions of limewire made all my files freeze, this is a similar problem to that but this time it's only with some files.

Did you check the file with Bitzi? There's a further link about Bitzi in the link I posted in post #2.

If you're seeing heaps of files where the download % regresses (even though you're not actually seeing the corrupted files message), have a look through this thread for ideas: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...corrupted.html

If files show as ok with a Bitzi lookup, maybe one of your security apps or a firewall's having some effect?

Thankyou birdy I'll look into that and report back later.

No info on the files im worried about on Bitzi, but i have looked up the file on search that went backwards tonight and got it back on my downloads list and so far it seems to be going in the right direction.

*fingers crossed* lol
