I think that this will be my last posting to your forum because I am sick and tired of spending whole evenings to get a 4000 Kb file download completed,and battling against Limewire who permanently wants to throw the file in the trash can because it is sending it to wait for sources permanently.
Besides in the last days I only get 100 % viruses listings as a result of my searchings and many video files in which the content of the video does not match with what I searched for,and I get mostly porn files which I did not ask for.
There is evidently something that does not work properly in this network and it seems that nobody cares.Viruses feel themselves at home and ''have all the files you need'' while the healthy section of the network is getting poorer and poorer.
I guess that in a very near future I will be uninstalling Limewire and head for something better...

I think there something wrong with your computer can you explain the problem with more detail and what you are trying to do?

marpiw was given tips on how to recognise & side-step spammed files a while back. Obviously having problems with the concept.

For video files, use Bitzi search to verify the video file is ok. In LW 5 you do that by right-clicking the search result, choose View File Info ...
Then in the next window at top right corner click on the More File Info link.

For audio files you need to be careful of file size. Tips on which file sizes to NOT download were given in the above links.

Perhaps your problems are related to how you search, the terms you use. Perhaps too long or too short or too specific or not specific enough.

what I wonder is just what exactly does the known lameness of LW have to do with you needing to avoid the door slamming you in your a$$ as you storm out of this forum?

ever heard of Phex or perhaps BearShare beta version?
