Stalling at 99% why?

can anybody explain to me why many of my downloads have decided to stop at 99%? i've been using limewire for years and whilst im not what i would call an "advanced" user ive never had problems in the past downloading songs movies etc.

has anyone else been experiencing this? is there a solution?

Are they torrents or regular gnutella video files? Which version of LW are you using?

It's not uncommon when downloading a large video file that hosts drop off as you near the end. Sometimes this is because not all of them have 100% of the file. Usually when files stop at a high download % it's because you are waiting for the last bits of the file from someone with 100% of it. You may have been downloading from someone who themselves did not have the entirety of the file but were downloading from someone else. Re-search the topic to find the file in search results again. This sometimes helps find more sources. If using LW 4, you could cancel download & reselect the download from search results which sometimes pushes it to start again. LW 5 cannot do this as canceling a download deletes the incomplete file. Alternatively if using LW 5, pause & unpause might fix it.

cont.

im using 5, which i now know has some flaws, i think i will roll-back to 4 when i get the chance. i've tried the pause resume trick and that hasn't kickstarted it. i have also left some of these files downloading for as long as 3 weeks and got nothing. what concerns me though is it has never happend before i upgraded to LW5 and it always does it at 99% and now it's happening more and more often. and these files are torrents which i have downloaded from mininova, which i've never had problems with in the past. i can't help but blame LW5. if you know any other solutions/questions/comments etc id love to hear them.

For torrents .. like several others on the forums, I would not recommend LW. Either uTorrent or Vuse would be much better. ;) LW's torrent abilities are greatly limited.
