Accidentally cancelled download.

Hello everyone, :)

Today, I accidentally cancelled my download. I have been downloading for a few days now and I would like to know if I can get it resumed.

Could someone explain how to do it?

PS) I'm using LimeWire 5

Thank you.

Unfortunately, when you cancel a download in LW 5 it also deletes the incomplete file. I do not like that option & have suggested several times to the Devs to give an option to keep the incomplete file. At least in LW 4 if you cancelled a download, you could still resume it again. I made the same mistake a week or so ago. One that was 90% complete & was downloading like a snail.

Man, now you frightened me. :yikes:

I looked in my incomplete folder, and luckily enough, it's still in there.

I had to navigate to MyDocuments/LimeWire/Incomplete/MYDOWLOAD

Everything is still there so, can I do something with it to get it resumed?

EDIT: I just figured out how it happens that it is still in there. When I cancelled the download, I had also some trouble with my screen resolution. So I used a restore point, perhaps that's the reason why everything is still in there.

Thank you.

Wow you were lucky! Yeah as mentioned I don't like the LW 5 function of auto-deleting the incomplete files if cancelled accidentally or deliberately. There should be a popup window asking 'Do you wish to remove/delete the incomplete file?' in the same way as if you were deleting a file from the Library it comes up with a popup window with a question & multiple choice option.

But then there is no way to resume incomplete files in LW 5 at this stage. Only option would be to revert to LW 4 & resume it then go back to LW 5. lol :D It does happen to some people that their LW crashes & refuses to resume the incomplete files. Reverting to LW 4 works in that scenario since it does have a Resume option.

I don't know how I did it, but I managed to get this back running.

I reopened my torrent, and my download just resumed.

I'm happy now :D

Ah .. a torrent. That might be different to normal gnutella downloads, I'm not sure. :) Glad to hear it all worked out fine. :)

hi there i download torrents on lw5 and they do take longer. also using lw to download films or music from the gnuttella network is different .atorrent is free space on a network torrents are slow thats why they ask you to seed atorrent so everyone canget it.file sharing is compacted on a network only so many people have part of the file and when u download all the pieces come together over the network thats why its quicker on gnutella

ironhorse666....Uh Huh...Really???

First you say " i download torrents on lw5 and they do take longer"

Then you say " its quicker on gnutella".

Please explain....

LW is a program and Gnutella is a network. LW uses the Gnutella Network.

A torrent client would be best for d/ling torrents. LW is not one of the chosen clients for downloading torrents.
