I can't get HD video files to download to DVD RW

I manage to download files from LimeWire to my computer but when I try and put them onto DVD discs they just dont come out at all.

What can I do.?

that is not very descriptive at all....

are the files making it to the disc?

are you trying to make a disc playable in your DVD player? if so, then you will need to transcode the files to VOB format (unless you have a divx player)

They appear to download correctly onto disc, when I try the disc on my DVD player the file name is there but when I click to play it nothing happens.

What format are the files?
Does your player support that format?
More importantly, does your player even support the DVD-RW disc you are using? If it's displaying the file it might, but not necessarily.

If you don't give just a little bit of info, it's really hard to be of any help.

MPG files, and with non HD files on the same discs in the past I've had no troubles at all and my DVD player does play recordable DVD discs.

Sorry about the lack of detailed info before, im quite new to this. :whistling:

It is very likely that your player does not support a pixel width of more than 640 pixels. HD is much more than that. BTW what HD is mpg format? (don't post titles just generally speaking) Do these even play right on your PC?

HD is normally MKV, MP4 or WMV format

Yes they play fine on my PC and when i download them onto discs the names appear on my DVD player but nothing happens when I click to play them.

I fear you are right about the pixel width on my DVD.

I've downloaded MPG files on HD but as I say they didn't play on my DVD player.
