Getting movies with sound only, no video

Hello, I'm a new user
no problem getting music files, but when I download movies from torrents, it seems I only get the audio track. before playing the AVI file it says something about the file being incomplet, then gives a a complete soundtrack to the movie
any thougts
I'm using windows xp media center edition.
