Roommate downloads 100x faster w/ same connection!

My roommate and I both have ethernet and he can download the same file in a few seconds while it either doesn't work or takes 20 minutes for me. What is different about my settings? Please help!

Not only does it depend on your connection, but on the source(s) you are downloading from.
