Question 99% to 96%

More than once now I have a file 99% complete and on the last few seconds of download when it inexplicably jumps back to 96 or a similair % and ends up taking much longer.
Does anybody have any ideas to why this happens?

Oh, yes !

But must ask you a question first... From which clients are you experiencing this...
Meaning, are you having this 'problem' with all clients or only specific ones ?

If you enable Version to be displayed in your Search and Downloads pages you will be able to quickly see what client the file source is using...
(Obviously you can also simply place the cursor over the file name in both pages, but it's another mouse movement, hmmm ?.)

I am trying to be 'good' here by not mentioning the client I am sure is the source of most of the problems... So, awaiting your reply...

The version on the search page says RAZA and on the download page it says GNUCLEAS

Yup !

Those are the usual suspects today.

RAZA is Shareaza, btw...

If the material you want is not available via other sources, than you are simply going to need to be patient... Sorry...

Complaining to the so-called responsible people re: these apps may prove to be frustrating...

btw...

I have just finally 'stopped sharing' a particular file...

An eBook of 177KB...

Being slightly curious, and having already Uploaded every file I have more than 50 times (at minimum), I allowed a particular Gnucleus user to 'attempt' to DownLoad said mega-file...

Each transfer was listed as completed and verified...

659 times in two days...

THIS IS SUCH AN OLD PROBLEM WITH GNUCLEUS THAT IT IS DISGUSTING AND DEPLORABLE THAT IT CONTINUES.

Interesting that Darth Vinnie and Dave - Statsman The Enforcer have continued to deny us the old facility of Banning/Blocking Uploads yet they retain said option in the DownLoads section ?????????

Must be too many nights of those Miami moons, huh ?

Weird!

I have recently stopped sharing a file because of that same reason (dont think it was 659 times though). I was beginning to think that maybe other users were encountering the same prob from me.

Hey

I recently downloaded a file that was 165.9MB.
It got to 165.3MB and 99% complete but now completley goes slow. It does day downloading from 1 or sometimes up to 3 or 4 hosts BUT the speed stays on 0kb and it seems to refuse to download that small final part.

What can I do? Be patient or will it probably never complete?

AARON

Now I am no expert so this might be a load of crap but I imagine You could try closing limewire down, and then restarting. maybe then you could get better luck from new hosts. if not then try and get your file from a new source.

Worth a try?
