viewing dowloaded movie

I have just downloaded "KILL BIIL" which is in mpg format. The file has downloaded successfully. However when I go to preview the file it will not play, all Im get is the ultra player and then a black screen, no picture or sound. Has anyone any ideas what is wrong. I am new to this so please keep as simple as possible so I can understand
