Firewalled when on wireless

I've just gone wireless and have tried to download something off Bearshare. But when I connect it says that it's firewalled and I can't download anything.

I've tried connecting using the modem and that's fine. How do I stop it from being firewalled?

Ok, I've been digging around on here a bit and have a bit more info.

(Sorry, should have put this thread in the connections forum).

I've got a Netgear DG834 wireless modem.

I tried to download something last night. First I tried with Netgear and the fourth Network button said: "TCP Firewalled. UDP Solicited Nonfirewalled." So I couldn't download anything.

Then I connected my old Sagem modem to the laptop. Connected to Bearshare and could download stuff fine.

Gone back onto Netgear today and Bearshare's firewalled again.

I've only got Windows Firewall running. The firewall was switched on when I downloaded something last night. I've tried turning it off today and downloading while on Netgear and that didn't make any difference.

I've just read something on here about UPnP (?) Anyway, I logged onto the 192.168.0.1 thing and found the area about UPnP. It's already ticked and enabled.

1. OS version? Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? Just Windows Firewall
3. How much ram? 504
4. Hard Disk space available? Er, not sure how to find out this
5. Connection type? Broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Netgear DG834v3
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Stupid question: What's LimeWire?
9. Who is your ISP provider? Tiscali
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "Your test worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Nope, just me.
12. Is this a your 1st try at FW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Not had a problem with firewalls before. It's just started since I got the Netgear.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface? Is that in LimeWire? Firewall is switched on, if that's what you mean.

Can anybody help? :)

Something else that I've just found.

Had a look in the Netgear properties and found this:

Says "IEEE 802.1 authentication can not operate on peer to peer (ad hoc) networks or on networks for which data encryption is disabled."

yet another reason I will never go for a wireless router (music being the main one (I have no desire to have a good track fekked because of stray radio frequencies), security being another)....sorry, just a fekking comment which is of no help to you...sounds like you are hosed with that modem though, which is prolly the idea (by the manufacturer of course)...

Nobody got any ideas then?
