Bearshare Download Speed Constantly Changes

I´ve been using Bearshare for a couple of years and never had this problem. When I download any files (currently, MP3´s), the Bandwith Total In/Out changes every second like a clock (for example, right now it goes 49, 31, 183, goes blank, 123, etc...).
Never had this happen before.

Here´s the info that may help resolve:
OS: Win XP SP2
Modem: DSL
PC: Compaq 664mHz, 192mg ram, celeron
Antivirus: NOD32 - set to allow Bearshare on AMON & IMON
Firewall: Bearshare is an exception
Router: Bearshare Ports 6348 have been opened for udp & tcp
When: Happens during every hour of night/day/weekend/weekday
Bearshare Version: 5.1.0b25 (beta version - recommended to solve this problem)
Bearshare Settings: Broadband, allow 4 files at a time, 10 connections per file, total of 40 connections.

Thanks for any tips that might explain this!

Nothing unusual there. It's not a real problem. If you want to see average
speeds, right-click on the column headers and enable the Average Speed column.

The speeds you see are being calculated once per second. Any other
software running on the computer will delay the calculations and make them
less accurate and jump around just like you are seeing, yet the real speeds
are unchanged. Watch the averages and see if they are still at the normal
level.

Might as well set the downloads up to 50 files, 50 connections per file and 999
total. More connections will tend to average out the bandwidth a little more
smoothly. If you like, you could also try setting the Advanced Limits in
Setup/Connection to just below your connection's real top speed, but that
would only cause a slight slowdown just to get the indicator to hold steadier.
