How to get optimum Download Connections?

what is preffered options if i usually dl movie clips and songs.

with up too [ ] connection per file

and up to [ ] connections total


what should i put my numbers at for optimum use ?

i just max out the numbers
50 at a time
999 connections per file
999 connections total
of course i still prefer to use v5.2.5
