Search results window on osx limited - no vertical scroll bar

It seems I can't scroll to the end of the downloads. Am I missing something here? I get the list of top # of files on list but can't scroll down. No matter which way I arrange the files ... by size or name, etc. Any clues? There should be a vertical scroll down bar on the right column, similar to the horizontal scroll bar. But there's not. The size limiter was 1 byte btw.

Sorry I forgot to mention I'm using the recent Phex version 2.8.10.98 with Java 1.5 & Mac OSX 10.4.8, QT 7. Quicksilver G4, 1.5 GB RAM, 16-17 GB free on OSX partition. Program & shared files, etc. are on different partition with about 4 GB available. Shares spread across 2 partitions.

Edit: I just worked it out. I drag down from the last file listed before the horizontal scroll bar. :o A waste of space sorry!! :o

But a scroll bar would make it easier for people to see what they expect to see. It might take a lot of people to get totally confused before they realised how to do. A scroll bar is more obvious to the average person. And is default with most osx programs.

Hi LotR,

You could try increasing the width of the window. Sometimes the Scrollbar disappears, when the window is too small to fit in all the buttons.

Greets,
Arne

Stretched sideways & vertically & also enlargened the area by dragging up into the search portion. Still no go. 19" monitor at 1024 x 768 setting. Restarted ... same thing.

That's strange...

Sadly I don't know where it coudl come from. Maybe Gregor knows something.

No sorry... there usually is a scroll bar.. but I remember a similar bug report a long time ago.
Well all I can say is that the widget should display a vertical and horizontal scroll bar once it gets too small to display its content... But I dont have direct influence on when it actually displays it...
Would only be interesting to see if an older version has the same problem or if it is something that was introduced in this release that cause the scroll bar to stay away for whatever reason.

Can you try to show/hide/show/hide the filter pannel, running search list, and running search button bar a bit... if it changes anything?

Hiding the filter fixes it. But as soon as show it, the scroll bar disappears again. Same with Phex 2.8.4.93. Though not a problem with Phex 2.6.4 because the filter is on the left side, not above the search results. Strange I didn't notice this before or perhaps just accepted it as being as is.

I've tried changing monitor resolution but no change. What size monitor are you using Only A Hobo?

Edit: I just rebooted into OSX 10.3.9 & same issue.

Search pane not the download pane. I was wondering if you don't have the problem then perhaps it's related to apple G4 architecture hardware. I tried changing my resolution down as far as 800 x 600 & also others including upwards like 1200, etc.

Actually you're right, or partially right. I had to stretch mine the full width of the screen to see the scroll bar. Less than that & it doesn't show. For me it's more like 90+ to 95% the total width of the screen. BTW I was scrolled all the way to the right horizontally. I just showed it to be obvious about that in the last frame of the gif. As you can see each frame of the gif, I've resized the width of the program slightly until the vertical scroll bar disappears. Looks like over 90% to me. The blue of the desktop is all that can be seen of the desktop with the left of the program not showing any desktop.
