Frostwire FrostWire 4.17.2 Java Problem

Using 64bit Win 7 - Installed last Java Version + Java 6.

But when i try to open Frostwire then:

"FrostWire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environment. Please download and install a newer version from Java.com

PLEASE HELP

Lord of the Rings April 20th, 2019 09:58 AM

I am wondering if that is a system security message because MS considers old java versions vulnerable.

I use Java 7 on my Windows 7, why not install Java 7?

Kambacha April 20th, 2019 12:27 PM

So i installed now
Java SE Runtime Environment 7

Now the message is:

Frostwire was unable to load. Please download and install Frostwire again.

After reinstall ===>> JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE LAUNCHER Could not find the main class. Program will exit.

After this Frostwire will download and install Java but porogram dont work. Frostwire requires the JAVA (TM) 1.6 components...

--> Frostwire was unable to load. Please download and install Frostwire again.

Was fixed with this now

Good to hear you solved the issue. Thanks for posting your solution. :)
I am curious which version of FrostWire you were using before you switched to the 'Bundle Free' version of FrostWire.

Oops, my Win 7 has Java 8 not Java 7. I notice the link you posted is Java 6. But if it works for you, that's good.
On Win 7, my FrostWire 4.20.9 opens and runs fine under Java 8.

Yes but the new problem is now, connection dont work. I tried FrostWire Windows Gnutella ConnectFix 17 April 2019 . But still he cant get an connection :/ its curiosly.. now its working. I really dont understand this **** problems xD .. lost connections again.. i found this here from you:

Very basic method of installing a connection file for either LimeWire
or FrostWire. You will need to set the Combo_LimeWire-FrostWire_ConnectFix
script file's permissions to execute under the file's properties
& permissions. Then Run the file in Terminal. Easy as that.
After finished, you can open LimeWire or FrostWire whichever you
installed it for. Careful to choose the correct one or else the script
will install an unnecessary folder.

How to do this exactly with win 7 ? Combo_LimeWire-FrostWire ConnectFix

Lord of the Rings April 21st, 2019 10:15 PM

linux_Combo_LimeWire-FrostWire_ConnectFix is only for Linux users, not for Window users. At least with the FrostWire Windows Gnutella ConnectFix you have two choices of file to install. One is slightly larger than the other and is reversed in order. I don't know why but I find this generally connects faster than the smaller one which is organised in the proper order FrostWire would organise it.

I've likewise had inconsistent connections when using FrostWire.

Duh, my question about FrostWire version you were using is in the topic title, sorry. :D
