Hobo I gave you credit for a link to a post about automated spam generation that was actually provided by LOTR in another thread. At my age anything is possible! |
Great posts, Elder. The freeloader issue is complex, but it seems to me to be a matter of accepting that life isn't always fair (so stop crying in your beer). :) |
Whats a freeloader? someone who hides behind a proxy? |
Salut Ayden, its someone who do not share content, ie a "leecher". Ciao |
Just so you know I am not a freeloader. But, anyone who would try to browse me while I am downloading from them would not find anything. I run limewire all day and night, but when I want to download somthing I usualy clear my uploads slots (which are usually full) and stop sharing so I can get a fast download. Thats why you can't block downloaders just because you can't browse them. |
For some it may not increase the download speed of files, but for those with an ISP who only allows a maximum bandwidth. With upload and download speed combined, stopping uploading does infact increase the download speed. :D |
FYI: Your download speed is relative to your upload speed for any given overhead that is necessary. eg: downloading a file requires a small amount of extra upload bandwidth to communicate with the network and any uploading hosts which you may be downloading from. Perhaps you may want to look into lowering your upload bandwidth by 10-15% to maximise your download speed. (85-90% overall upload bandwidth is all you will need to appease the download->upload overhead.) |
