download speeds slow down/stop

Ok I've been looking around the forums for awhile to see if someone has already posted a solution, but no luck.

When I open frostwire it connects with an excellent connection, the files start to downloading upwards to 250 kb/s depending on the number of files. Then slowly the downloads slow down till 0 kb/s and I lose my connection. Anyone with Ideas??

oh I am running

windows xp w/sp2
windows firewall enabled
d-link DI-604 router
speedtouch 510 highspeed modem
ISP: kw.igs.net

Hi hyper89,
Go into the Download/Upload section of the LimeWire forum, read through the stickies at the top.

Do you mean that you lose connection to the host, or connection to the network?

This thread might help a bit;)

no I lose connection to the network, also I tried the things in the other thread, but nothing worked... Is there any way to check if your bandwidth is being choked off/ given low priority?

Hmmm, that's a good question since I've long suspected this is the case with my ISP as well. Only easy thing that springs to mind immediately is to ping a host and look at the times. I usually use ping.symantec.com since it was set up solely for that purpose.

I found out I was running QoS and disabled it but it didn't make a difference
