Freeze

What causes Frostwire's display to freeze and yet still permits downloads to continue?
This happened sometimes with the previous version but seems much more frequent with the latest release.
Is it caused by having too many simultaneous downloads perhaps? If so how can I reduce the number before the freeze starts?

To reduce your simultaneous downloads tools > options > downloads. Just reduce the number & apply. How high do you have it set now? Mine's on 4. Just try setting it quite low & see if you still have probs with the freeze.

If so, delete your preferences folder (make sure LW's fully closed first). Instructions here

If the prob persists, uninstall your Java & then reinstall using the offline installer (see above thread).

Thanks. I lowered the number of downloads and the problem seems to have been cured: serves me right for being greedy.:)

I'm currently experiencing similar difficulties with both FW and Phex. I have both set to 1 download, so I don't think that's the problem. There have been no significant system changes either.

While I am not sure yet what it is, I don't think it has to do with either Phex or FW. What I have done thusfar is uninstall/reinstall the JRE, and both worked ok this time, but time will tell...
