Freezing at startup

Allright, for the last few days (but never before then,) FrostWire has been freezing on startup; the status bar gets to "User Interface," tries to figure it out for about ten seconds, and then freezes.

I try uninstalling and re-installing it, which worked for a bit, but now does not. Similarly, I tried deleting the themes folder as sugested in one of the sticky threads, which worked once, but now again does not. I even (incidentally) did a system restore to a period in which these problems were not occuring, but it was for naught.

Is this a known problem, and has it happened to anyone else here? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as now I'm stuck using Ares. I'm not a neophyte by any means, but I'm still not all that good with computers, so please don't make it too complicated

Edit: I tried uninstalling it, deleting all the files in Application Data and in My Programs, and reinstalling it. This worked fin, but then as soon as I shut it down, the next time I tried to open it the same problems occured. Any thoughts?

Try reinstalling Java. Remove the previous versions & then reinstall using the "Offline" installer which is about 18 MB to downld. You could also try the Java 1.6 beta http://java.sun.com/javase/6/ (choose the JRE) & the offline installer is about 19 MB. Repeat the deleting preferences before opening FW. If still problems, try changing the FW compatibility to win 2000 or NT.
