Does not display Japanese/Korean

I am using FW on Fedora core 5. I have East Asian text supported, and SCIM to type into the search. However, when I type or when I search, anything that should be in Japanese or Korean shows up as boxes. I assume it would be the same for Chinese if I tried.

Is there any fix for this?
