Starting Connection

1. OS version? Windows xp sp 2
2. What firewalls you have? Only Router
3. How much ram? 1Gig
4. Hard Disk space available? 300 gig
5. Connection type? broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Livebox Wannadoo
7. Where are you trying to connect from home
8. FW 4.10.9 Java 1.5.0_07
9. France Telekom (wannado)
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up? no
11. Is this a your 1st try at FW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. i know a trick or two but guees i am not pro
12. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface? yes i do

I used FW without Problems for awhile and then all of a sudden it didnt connect anymore. I read the stickies so i already tried several things
I ran the Test and it said the test worked i found the Gnutella.net file and deleted the content and pasted what you gave up here. didnt help
I Checked my Ports and it didnt seem like i had a Firewall problem. I got a nice little tool that checks if a port is open or not so i looked for a open port and told FW to connect to that specific port still no connection.
I uninstalled FW deleted this folder C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\Application Data\FrostWire\ and then reinstalled FW still no connection.
Like said Windows Firewall is disabled and if i pick the open port manually it doesnt work and neither does it if i let it pick automatically.
Any suggestions what i can try?

Go to FW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port to one between 49152 - 65535. A good one to try is 64049. You should re-start FW after making the change.

Also set FW for manual connect. This setting is under Tools>Options>Connections. After opening FW, let it settle for 10 mins or so, then go to File menu & choose Connect. Give it plenty of time.

Actually worked thanks.
I think i forgot to change the listing port when i let Frostwire connect manually.

Ok yes, I believe the next FW release isn't too far away.

BTW are you using the same port to connect thru with LW as FW? Perhaps you should change this. On my system I can't have 2 run in same session if using same port. I have to reboot or use a different port. At least for listening port.

Edit: Good to hear ... you deleted your previous post so I've had to edit mine. lol
