Frostwire starts to open then quits...help!

Alright guys, I'm new, I tried to look for answers in the stickies but came up empty so...Sorry if this is a basic problem...

I just d/l the new Frostwire...everything went great until I tried to open it...It showed up in the dock for like half a second, then disappeared (I have a mac obviously)...

Any ideas?

PS: Limewire does the same thing when I try to install it!

Thx

1st do a safe boot & repair permissions; (1) Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode; & then (2) Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions. Then reboot normally. If you have the latest Java 1.5 then you may not need to change the Java preferences because it automatically becomes default. But worth checking anyway; Setting up Java 1.5

I can't give you a link to reinstalling Java because it really depends upon whether you're using an intel mac or a powermac G3-5. And I'm not sure which Java would be best to reinstall.

Try opening FrostWire after repairing permissions & rebooting normally.

Ok...I repaired permissions, and installed quicktime 7.1.3. i try to open the java preferences thing but it still bounces and disappears, as both limewire and frostwire do. i have a macbook(intel). no dice...oh and i have the newest beta of limewire and the newest regular version of frostwire (i am not sure how to check the version since i cant open them)...i don't know what else to do...sorry i suck at this stuff and really appreciate all the help...but still nothing is working...

Try using the startup disk that came with your mac & repair disk. Not permissions because that would chance permissions to prior to your use, but repair disk.

If that doesn't do the trick, reinstall Java from the apple site. And repair permissions again before attempting to run FW or LW.
