new to frostwire and stuck! (transferring files to iTunes) I have subscribed to Frostwire and have Itunes. I have downloaded some music in Frostwire and this now appears in my I-tunes folders under a heading - 'SHARED' - inside which is the folder I named, with striking originality, as 'ME's Frostwire'. I can play the music in 'ME's Frostwire' fine but when I tried making up an Itunes playlist and transferring music to it they wouldn't drag and drop. I've looked through a number of solutions but with no luck. Some suggested going to the Preferences heading in Frostwire (but there isn't one, though their is an OPTIONS heading which I've explored. The most promising moment came when I dragged a file from my Frostwire shared folder (in Frostwire itself) across to Itunes but then up came an error message saying blah blah and ending with "not a podcast URL" even though I hadn't gone any where near any podcast folders. For the record the system is Windows XP with a cable link. Any ideas? Thanks |
Hi Andrew, That "Limewire Tunes" is just a playlist, so you won't be able to add to iTunes or iPod from there. That playlist doesn't contain the music files, rather it just points to where they are on your computer:) Add to iTunes from your saved folder instead. In FW's library click on Saved Files then click Explore...your saved folder will open & you should be able to add to iTunes from there. There's a lot more info here (things are the same for FW as they are for LimeWire). Transferring music to iPod & iTunes |
frostwire files to Itunes library Many thanks. It worked! I was sorting out my daughter's PC so she'll be pleased. One more question if I may please - on my machine ( a Mac), using Limewire, I download music and it gets sent straight to iTunes. Can I get my daughter's Frostwire/PC set up to do the same? If so could you explain it step by step? Many thanks Andy b |
AFAIK there's no way for a Windows user to have files automatically added to the iTunes library...that's only possible for Mac users. Your daughter will have to add files to her iTunes library after download:) |
macs Thanks, I'll keep quiet about the Windows issue or I think I'll be pestered for a Mac very soon... thanks again andy b |
