Frostwire insists that it connect to peercommons chat service to initiate a chatting session no matter if you hide the tab, or not, or even put nochat in the username box, as that's why A) frostwire starts up a bit slower and B) connects to the internet before hand.

I discovered the ips using a good program called ethereal which is free by the way and at least works with my dialup and also works even with grc's socketlock installed unlike others i have tried..


The above i used to monitor packets and started up frostwire over and over again to get at least all the ips that i could to block the auto connect to and then saw the url as ethereal said it was chat.peercommons.net

Anyway moving on

Create a new block list in peerguardian2 or protowall (which is based off the old peerguardian 1 source code, etc..) and add the following ips one by one while each has a start ip and an end ip, once your done - click save and then re-initiate the ip cache on the corresponding program.
