Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

I am aware some Linux LW users were having problems with Java 1.6 (6). Downgrading to Java 1.5 fixed their problem. If you installed the most recent Java version, that would be 1.6_11.

Perhaps this version: Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 (1.5_11) ... choose the JRE.

Java 6 seems not to be too stable for unix type operating systems, both Linux & MacOSX.
