Default massive new spam wave?

whenever I search for ANYTHING this morning on frostwire, i get 2-3 thousand results for spam.

I tested this on a varity of different searches, and they all kept coming up with the same thing.

So i decided to block the hosts. didn't seem to stop the searches from coming up, they all from what I see come from 64.120.2.*

interestingly enough it seems my blocking the hosts seemed to have helped.

but now i get bearly any results for the things i am searching for.. any ideas?

Well, as a frostwire mod.. I must agree, there's been a surge in dirty rotten spammers on the gnutella network.

Apart from blocking them not much you can really do against them.. But let's try to deal with your connection problem, before we takle anything else :P

Click your connection tab, highlight them all, and click 'del' frostwire will replace them automatically, then research.

Alternatively, file >> disconnect >> wait 2 minutes >> file reconnect/connect

But do remember, you can only download what is being shared (: Hope this helps.

this did seem to help with the search results.

still a ton of spam, despite me putting the subnet in the block hosts filter. :/

I do know the developers of Frostwire are working on something to combat this... I don't know what, and there's only so much they can..

Sorry I can't help anymore.
