Full path name in search string?

I share a lot of mp3s that are organized by
artist and album title directories, with just the track number and song title for the actual mp3 file name. If people search for an artist or album title, will my files show up in their search, or does the album title and songname need to be in the filename and not just the path.

for example: I organize my mp3s like this

Artist\Album1\01-song.mp3
02-song.mp3
03-song.mp3

Alubum2\01-song.mp3
02-song.mp3

where Artist, Album, and song are replaced by their real names.

Does Gnuetlla search by full path or just filename?

Depends on the client I think. Some might run the search on the whole directory structure, some only on the filenames. I will take a look at the Phex source to find out.

Personally I think it's still MUCH more comfortable if one can see the artist's name and the album title - for classical music even the name of the orchestra/conductor etc. - it also helps you to sort the files you've just downloaded!
There are some nice utilities out there for renaming large lists of files which can insert text at the beginnig or end, add index numbers and so on, try for example Rname-it v3.11, which can be found at http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/listerman/fileutil.html :-)
