Default why does phex has to put its files in my home directory?

i put phex in a new folder, where it can live in peace.
after starting, it puts all his config/log/host files in my home directory.

why can phex not put _its_ files in _its_ folder?
(or at least create _one_ hidden file)

or is there maybe a option for that?
