Man/faq collaboration

Please do not post your questions or problems here!

I'm new to Phex. I like it. There sure isn't much documentation though! Rather than just complain about that, I propose to do something about it. I need your help!

If you've been using Phex for a while, you've got most of the manual in your head!
  • Please think about the things that weren't at first clear to you (and what experience or insight finally made it clear).
  • Please think about the settings you've fiddled with (and the effects different settings have had).
  • Please think about the environment you're running Phex in (OS, LAN, NAT router, Firewall, Proxy, public or private sharing).
  • Please post your insights here! (It would help me if you'd limit each post to a single issue, or at least to a single Phex menu or interface panel.)
If like me you've just started using Phex, there are probably a few things you've had trouble with...
  • If you haven't solved the problem, and you've reviewed the existing FAQ and the discussions here, please start a new thread to get help with the problem!
  • If you have solved the problem, please post a description of the specific issue and how you resolved it.
  • If you have a suggestion for a specific item you feel should be included, mention it here and perhaps someone with experience with that topic will expand on it here.
With the help of the Phex community, I believe we can provide far better documentation. I suspect there are an awful lot of people who have tried Phex, had a problem, found no help within the program, and rather than seek assistance here they simply gave up and tried a different application. With helpful and comprehensive documentation, I believe the Phex community can grow far larger - which might inspire the developers to work even harder at polishing and enhancing the Phex experience!

Thanks for your help!

-Bob
