Default Tweak: Statistics

Since there are only four columns for statistics, it would be nice if the default column width were wide enough to display all the data in each field. Alternatively, if the user's preference were stored in the configuration so that the column width would be restored to the user's preference whenever Phex starts up.

Default column widths are a bit tricky because of different plattform fonts and default look and feels used. I will take a look into it though.

But user column widths should be stored for all tables on exit.
Take a look at the file phexgui.xml

I don't find phexgui.xml, where would it be located?

No, every time I start Phex, the stats columns are all the same width (about 25mm @ 800X600 resolution), and data in all four columns is cut off. When the widths are adjusted, all is well until I shut down, then next time I run Phex they're back to the uniform, narrow size...

Does this happen with every table or just with the Stats table?

The file should be in the same folder where all Phex files are stored. Like your phex.cfg
This should be in your home directory folder.
On newer Windows system it something like
c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\phex

Ah, found it.

Quote:
StatisticsTable 1001 true 0 75 1002 true 1 75 1003 true 2 75 1004 true 3 75
So if I change the '75's to '200' the columns would be wide? This file (and security.xml) are created 24 April and modified 27 April, both I believe before I first installed Phex, so it does not appear they're being affected by changes I make to my settings.

I haven't paid attention to other tables, I adjust them all the time different ways. I will start to pay attention to them. Stats I notice because I have to resize to be able to see them.

Yes if you change to 200 the column would be 200px width. The file should be saved on every exit.
Can you look into your phex.error.log maybe phex is not exiting cleanly on your system or maybe the files are write protected??

Error log attached. Yes, there are (severe) global errors reported. Attributes on all files are clear except for Archive. Ideas or other info that might help you figure this one out?

Something seems to be wrong with the access to the XML library. Are you sure you are using the right library files? Or have you downloaded or changed anything?

You can find the original jaxb and jaxp files here:
