Download Candidates

Hello All:
I am a newbie here and using Phex for the first time. Happy so far but I have a question. In the download candidates screen there is a column called status. Can someone explain what "Ignored Candidate" means. My interpretation is that my computer is "ignoring" that particular candidate. If that is correct, any reason why?

As always, any help is appreciated.

Candidates are ignored out of different reasons. Downloads or network blocked (Shareaza), File not available anymore, Not reachable (Firewall status), Out of date (IP might be too old) and so on..

They are not dropped and still tracked till the end of session to prevent that they unnecessary reappear as fresh candidates through searches or download mash.
Also certain ignore reasons will be used to inform others of bad candidates.

Other clients are usually doing the same kind of tracking.. they just dont display it to users.

Thanks Gregork. If I understand, it my client that is ignoring those candidates for some reason, maybe one of the ones you indicated. If all of the candidates are ignored, is there any way to force the search for new candidates?

Yes there is a search button for downloads on the upper half. You can also configure the search term when you click on Configure Download.

Also you can search by using the standard search interface. Candidates that match any of your downloads will be automaticaly added when found.

Shareaza blocks the Gnutella network...

Phex is not blocking Shareaza...
