Howto download many files at once? Hi there! I am using phex on my cgi-capable webhosting account (/tmp is writeable) with X11 forewarding. The only problem I have is that phex never downloads more than 5-10 files, although I told phex that it may download up to 99 files at the same time from 99 different locations. I already removed the bandwith limits (and as far as I know bandwith is great >10mbit/s), but I never got more than 10 simultaneous downloads, even I told phex to download 10.000 files from search :-( Any ideas how this could improved? Thanks in advance, lg Clemens PS: Is phex's code integrated in the gui or is there a clear cut between logic and gui. I would be willed to write an simple html frontend for better remote useage. |
I'd love to know how you do the trick with your webhost. Do you only need cgi-capabilities? It is possible, that your provider doesn't give you enough processing power to keep the number of threads. As far as I know, Phex uses one thread per download. GUI and CORE should be seperate, and iirc Gregor even wrote a pure backend for a program once. So a HTML frontend should be quite possible (in chat he told me, he kept GUI and CORE seperated, which is one of the main differences to LimeWire). |
