New to Phex Dear Phex People I am new to Phex but not P2P, I mainly use Limewire Pro (currently 4.9.30), and therefore got Phex to work without too much difficulty. However, I must admit that I do not understand all of the windows Phex shows me and, of course, what they are for or they primary purpose. I guess some would say that if I have no problems what am I worried about? Well, I would like to know what I am using and if I can configure it better for my own PC, just like I've done with LW Pro. Therefore, I would like to ask if there are any plans to bring out a downloadable (pdf) userguide/manual in the near future? UK Bob PS. I know there are a lot of people out there that don't like to read manuals but I believe they aid greater undertsanding of an applications and how it can be better configured. |
Bob A manual is a work in progress at http://phex.kouk.de/wiki/ This will be added to as and when users have the time and inclination, so a pdf version is as yet a distant dream! :) I think most of the user help is to be found in this forum, and from the point of view of someone who is no computer expert much of it goes straight over my head! Read the posts by GregorK .. He has his hands on, is helpful and is inviting and welcoming the input of others. |
Phex Knowledge Hi Hobo As you probably guess, I not after user help but more indepth knowledge and an explanation of the non-user screens. And, yes, I was aware of the "work in progress" wiki style getting started doc. But I am after more, lots more. Anyway Hobo, I must thank you for your detailed PM, it got me over the initial hump. I shall now check out GregorK posting, I'm a sucker for any piece of interesting knowledge I can pick up:) . Peace. UK Bob |
Maybe you could ask the questions you have in the Wiki, then we can reach to goals with one strike :) Here's a pre-created page for this: http://phex.kouk.de/wiki/index.php/Advanced_Questions |
Cheers arne_bab I will put in some questions when I get the chance, probably tomorrow or Sunday. UK Bob |
