Filter System is awful

i like Phex, it very great program. but the Filter is awful. i tired to filter out the specific key term, well it did filter but some still there, so i thought it case sensive, so i type down the keyword, and filter it, the keyword i type is still there, most of them is filter cuz i dont want that, but it still there.

Filter system need improving, it filtered it well but some is still there. When it will be fix?

You talk about search filters or library filters?

Search filter

The Keyword filter does not filter out keywords ... quite the opposite. It took a while for me to grasp that you can search say for an artist, and then fiter a song title, and only that song title by that artist appears. That's what it does for me.
There are, I agree refinements that could be made to the filter however.

Would it be more usefull to have a regular expression filter like in the Library? Though this would make the filtering syntax much more complex for the average user.

Personally I don't have much of a problem with the filter.

On one occasion I did a search for Limewire ... I was searching for the programme, but of course every single file being offered by a Limewire host came up. They were coming up so fast that I was unable to apply the filter to show "programmes only" until the end of the search. It seems to me that applying the filter is retrospective ... i.e. it only filters the results, rather than the search itself.

In Limewire I gather that the filter removes selected items from the search altogether.

There are advantages in both systems (If I understand them correctly) and I probably would prefer the Phex system if I had to choose only one. I shall give the matter some thought.

You sure?? my Phex Filter is different. i got it from Phex website. it just filter out the result, it didnt show only what i type in the filter but however, it did both. it filter out the result and it show only what i type in the filter. it very confusing. for example, there is five keyword appeared: Dell, Compaq, HP, *********, Sony. So i want to filter out the Dell, so i type it, so it did filter out the dell, but it show some dell in it. there is no above keyword in that dell subject. My phex did both of it.

Im not entirely sure how Phex Search Filter system works. it doing both: Filter out and show what i type it. Im not sure if anyone have this same thing. but honestly, it did both, hobo.

Limewirer ... I have only used the Phex filter a couple of times and it took me a while to get a rough idea of it.

Do you mean you got Phex or the filter from the Phex site?

I shall have to examine it a bit more closely, but not right now. I need sleep!

Im going to test it out again, and see how filter works then i will post the info of what i mean or maybe i might be wrong. tune in later
