No downloads from phex to phex

Out of curiosity i have done several searches for "Phex" (Using Phex)

and have tried to download something from each Phex Host.
Every single one is showing as ignored candidate, except for one that is showing "candidate not available" all are showing 1 as the third number in the candidates column.

Coincidence????? or a problem of Phex communicating with it's self????

also what is the difference between "ignored candidate" and "candidate not available"?

My own uploads seem fine, altough I can not remember having ever uploaded to a Phex host, and I have downloads coming in from Limewire and Shareaza

I didnt try that yet, but i never got connect to Phex host. not even one phex user in my list... most of the time is Shareaza and LimeWire. i got connected to Gnozzle host (it told me it using LimeWire but it show Gnozzle) once.

Are you firewalled?
There were some download/upload problems if one candidate is firewalled. Also if both are firewalled it wont work.

What you can try to do:
- Quit Phex.
- Open the phex.cfg file with a text editor.
- Find the line
downloadCandidateLogBufferSize = 0
- Raise the value to maybe 500000 (means you use 500 KB more memory for download logging).
- When starting Phex you will find a 'Log' button on the candidate screen. Click on it to open a window with a communication log to this client (close and reopen it to view changes).

If you find anything strange, it might help to identify the problem. I think the ignore reason is not explicit mentioned yet, but next release would show it.
Here are possible reasons:

Thanks for the reply Gregor, I am not firewalled. I shall check out your suggestions this evening.
