ping timeouts firewall?

I have a problem with phex dropping all connections due to ping timeouts. It appears that Phex requires to recieve ping replies from it's connections, which my firewall is blocking. I have my firewall set up to explicitly allow ports 6347 and 6346 for gnutella connections, but other ports (ie pings) are being blocked, how can I turn off pings

Make sure you are setting the listening port of Phex to one of the open ports of your firewall.
Phex is using the open connection that is going through this port to ping the other hosts. No other port is used. You can't turn of pings since the clients connected to you are awaiting these pings to come every 30s to 60s (depending on the client). Otherwise they might disconnect you.
