And if it does how does Gnutella know that the files are the same considering that some same files have different names. Does the queryhit protocol relay back info about this file itself so theres some sort of comparison? |

The most clients have multi-segments-downloads now!

However, some servents may have adopted the HUGE proposal (Hash/URN Gnutella Extensions) which proposes that a SHA1 hash for each file be used to determine exact matches regardless of file name. The hash can then be used within queries and query hits in order to find a specific file. |
