New Project and new Developer

Hi Everybody,

I am currently completing my post-graduate dissertation in the development of an Altruistic Gnutella Host. The host attempts to offer a postive impact on the Gnutella network and services for its user.

It does this by the automatic indexing and caching of popular files on the Gnutella network - you leave the system running overnight and get a selection of the most popular files.

It also implements advanced routing techniques including content based routing, load balancing and a simple AI junk-file blocker.

You can read about where I'm upto at:
http://www.hughesdr.gnutella.com

and find detailed presentations and proposals in the download section of my project's website:

All comments and criticisms greatly recieved.

Sounds good...

Just wanted to make sure you knew about <a href="http://rfc-gnutella.sourceforge.net">this</a>. The one idea that you mention made me think of the QRP (Query Routing Protocol) document there. There's more info <a href="http://rfc-gnutella.sourceforge.net/Proposals/Ultrapeer/Ultrapeers.htm">here</a> too.

The link to the details of your project wasn't working for me... sorry if you already know about this stuff.

I always thought a big query indexing system like you described, would be great for putting up a website with information on the "most searched for artists" and other such categories. Almost like a Dick Clarks Top 40 list... on speed.
