Im a student trying to figure out how to compile Limewire. So far, I did find out how to compile through DOS but is there any way I can simply use a java editor program like visual cafe to compile the darn thing? I have a class project in which my group and I have to add metadata searching so it would really be nice if we can compile the program directly from an editor. Please help, thanks alot

All you need is Sun's jdk and apache's ant. Search for it with google, install it and start the install scripts in the LimeWire source.
