Are you working on a Gnutella client? Like to see how many participants of this forum are working on a Gnutella client, either for personal purposes or for release to the public. Let's see how popular Gnutella's development really is! |
Cultiv8r, When are you planning to release your client? |
Give him an option: I'm developing a Gnutella client, but not releasing it :) |

Just started to do so. Guess I like the fun of writing it, and the use of it is a nice side effect... Writing the Engine in .NET (C#). Release, I dunno yet. I might, I guess. Jeroen |
how about "Attempting to write one but its not working out; however, in the event I can release it I'l make it open/closed source.. lol" |
Thas about the same... Guess the fun lies in the programming, not so much the client itself or such... |
Everyone should make a client that is good and does not lag the network. Each client needs to be approved before it joins. |
I am developing one together with others. We search for Delphi Developers interested in developing a Gnutella client with transparent CPU-time sharing. A working prototype exists with a chat system integrated, too. The open source page of the project is http://sourceforge.net/projects/gpu Thanks for any comments or help or bugs submission |

hi people! I know that the Gnutella component has some bugs, at the beginning the GPU was very unstable. One reason was a RemoveNode procedure (I rewrote it) for nodes in the route list (used to avoid that packets can grow exponentially using circles in the network), the other reason was how search strings were added in the search window log. Now GPU seems to me very stable (but I couldn't try it out for more than about 8 hours). also the download mechanism was not present in the Gnutella component (now GPU implements one Downloadthread). Responses to file searches is also not implemented in the Gnutella component. I searched for your project in www.altavista.com,www.google.ch and also at sourceforge.net, but I didn't find your project. could you please contact me? my email is tmengotti@hotmail.com perhaps we could work together (if you plan to release your code as open source and if you are interested in) (and sorry for my broken English :-) Best regards Dangermouse |
sorry Cultiv8r, I didn't read the posts above before posting my message. if you want to join our project you are the most welcome because you have knowledge in Delphi and you also noticed that the Gnutellatrans has some bugs. I saw another client built over the Gnutellatrans component (Gnutviewer) and the author did nothing for solving the stability problems of the component. Best greetings Dangermouse |
I m developing a library NetBamboo in C++ on windows but not dependent from MFC. The library will be released ASAP as freeware. A simple application of this library is Bamboo you can download it at http://strayer.de/bamboo. bye dom. |
