Technically: Gnutella is for file searching :) HTTP does the download work in Gnutella... But that's another story...

I don't think the idea is to turn Gnutella into a full-fledged chat system. The idea is to be able to talk back and forth between other people for file sharing purposes.

E.g. "Hey does file blah.zip work right, and is it the full version?"
or "Hey file blah.mp3 is corrupt. I thought you should know."
or "Hey that's a cool song! Where can I find more?!"

You know... not to start up conversations but just to get a little info from other users... like with Napster and Morpheus/KaZaA.

Oh, I thought the yall wanted to setup chatrooms so users can go and talk in them and that would cause us to have less files. When Napster had chatrooms half o the people in the were sharin 0 files.
