Building a P2P in C#

Konichiwa!

My name is Antoine and I'm out to build a P2P in C#.
I'm a decent programmer to new to P2P world.

I need your advice, your wisdom, your source code, your help
in getting a unique and great idea into the community!

If you can share your experience with me it would be very helpful...

Thanks!!!

Antoine

I don't mean to be rude but this sounds like:
I have no idea how to write a gnutella client so I need you to write it for me.

Gee, it's good if you wanna write a client but you gotta have some experience. A p2p client is not the easiest way to start.

(I'm writing a client with some other people too so I know what I'm talking about. It's damn complicated.)

I have a similar impression like Paradog. A Gnutella client with all the proposed extensions is quite a big project that can't be handled by a single guy anyway.

Perhaps it would be better to contribute to an already existing client instead of reinventing the wheel. I would think that there are already clients in preparation for C# (I know none, but that doesn't mean there aren't any).

It'd rather have a couple of full-featured clients for the different operation systems than have a lot of different clients that don't implement all of the features or whose projects are stopped after some time. And we already have quite a couple of clients out there and only some of them are really good and up-to-date in respect to the features proposed on the Gnutella RFC site.

And why the heck should it be C# anyway?

We have a p2p client under construction and it's quite difficult... we don't manage to connect to a hostcache (!) so it's quite difficult to continue.
If you want, I can send you my C# code to (try to) connect to a host cache, maybe it will work on your PC, maybe we have an access permission problem...

I'm familiar with a lot of other programming languages, but not C#, so I can't help you there. But I don't see a reason why connecting to a hostcache shouldn't work. Do connections to other Gnutella-servents work?

connections...

it doesn't work on other hostcache bit it works when i connect to a ftp server or other !
