A test enviroment for the gnutella client...

Hello everybody.....I would really like to know if there was some kind of a test enviroment to test the gnutella client that I'm developing without having to connect to the internet each time and waiting for the software to connect............I heard that something like this is applicable under TCP/IP and it would make my life much more easier......
The thing that I'm looking for is as if your computer simulates the existance of another virtual machine on the same computer and then starts to communicate with it as if it was another servent, connected to each other via a gnutella client, being two different nodes.......thankx in advance

I would have thought the best thing to do would be to run two servants on the same computer, or (if you've multiple PC's) run one servant on one and one on another. If you're running on just the one computer then just ensure that you're using different port numbers for each servant, e.g. 6346 for the stable servant and 6347 for the test one.

Granted this won't demonstrate the full message passing and routing, but it would be a good start.
