UDP host cache questions

language)visual basic .net

Currently we are working on a VB assembly to communicate with the gnet.
Right now i am trying to get a list of UPs from a UHC

I understand correctly, i need to send it a UDP ping - then wait for a pong? Am i so far off its funny?

Any information or links to tutorials regarding the retrieval of UltraPeer nodes(ip':'port) from UHCs would be really really sweet (or if anyone would confirm that I need to gnutella ping a uhc to get it to dump ultrapeer ip':'port to me(contained in the pong datagram?))

I have tried reverse engineering uhc classes written in other languages with no luck

thanks,
kp

edit: for clarity
