Long distance file sharing

Please help me. My friend and I create music (Mp3s) with music making software. My friend is in Washington D.C. I am in Southern Illinois, how can we swap these Mp3s?

Get on IRC

Each of you should get and install an IRC client, MIRC, or XChat depending on your OS (I dunno the one for MacOS).

Then you both connect to the same server network eg DALNet, and both join the same channel eg "/join #mp3" or for a private channel "/join #meandmymate".

Then you can chat, and you can use the DCC function to send the files to each other.

Also you can join in chatting with millions of others, and if you want to share your files to them, you'll probably find people who would like to hear them (if you're not embarrassed).

You have to be careful though - some channels the operators will probably think you are pirates and ban your arses.
