is xolox spyware/adware free? someone once said it comes with adware. i'm thinking about trying it, i've tried bearshare, gnucleus, aqualime, and shareaza, and like shareaza the most.

Don't use Xolox. Shareaza may have a harmful requery timeout but Xolox is really evil as far as requeries are concerned.

Don't use Shareaza because it is MP ;)

Shareaza is the one client which attaches to multiple networks Gnutella, G2 (mike's protocol which has been released to the public); BitTorrent, and eDonkey. It is currently going through a public beta process and does have some bugs, however with that in mind, it's reach and breadth of content has been tremendously increased, because of eDonkey network. It works decently, however at this point there are some issues with it's uploading queuing and upload bandwidth deterioration over time. Downloading is not as much of an issue.

I'm not against Shareaza, but if there are upload problems either there will be download problems sooner or later, or Shareaza will leech from all networks.

I know that alpha team and the developers acknowledge this issue and are addressing it, I believe it it the number one priority to have this retuned on the next release. When Mike released Shareaza's 1.8.8.x, he made sure that when Shareaza was connecting to the ed2K network, that 50% of the uploads were dedicated to the 3D2K network, so that shareaza would automatically contribute to the network.

I think most shareaza supporters really support sharing and not leeching. (you will see how many people what the upload issue fixed) I know that users understand the importance of uploading.

Again, I'm not against Shareaza :). Besides, I believe that network integration is a positive thing, as it will bring more contents to each of them.

I used to like Bearshare the best, but then I got hooked on Shareaza.

Ever since Shareaza started connecting to BitTorrent and eDonkey I like Shareaza way better then the rest. How can you beat 4 networks and a nice program when you only got 1 network even if your program is better?
